Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
In this process, a particular set of postures and movements are performed then rated based on how well or how poorly they are done. It is a system designed to be used with people who are not suffering a current pain problem or known body frame injury. It aims to predict a person’s risk of developing a spine or sports injury caused by ‘faults’ in their basic postures and movements.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA)
This assessment is used for patients who are currently suffering pain in their back, neck or other body structure related to a sports, work or other lifestyle injury. It aims to help us understand the extent to which particular posture and movement ‘faults’ have contributed to the patient’s pain and injury.
If you need help with injury risk screening or a more detailed standardised assessment, call 9584 4856 to book your appointment.
